White-Label AI Voice Recorder for B2B Software Companies
An alternative to consumer AI recorders when the device is part of the product you sell.
Consumer AI recorders such as the Plaud NotePin are designed mainly for individual users and work through the vendor's own app and AI service. If you sell software to businesses and want the device to carry your brand, send audio to your own app or cloud, and be managed across your customers' teams, you need a white-label or OEM device instead. GMIC builds these from existing platforms (MIC01, MIC05, MIC06) or as full ODM programs, with the SDK and firmware work that connects the device to your stack.
How is a white-label device different from a consumer AI recorder?
Both capture voice in a small wearable. The difference is who the device works for: the recorder vendor, or you.
| Consumer AI recorder | White-label / OEM device | |
|---|---|---|
| Brand on the device | The recorder vendor's | Yours: logo, packaging, manuals |
| App the user opens | The vendor's app | Your app, through the device SDK |
| Where audio goes | The vendor's service | Your cloud endpoint or private server |
| Transcription and AI | The vendor's choice | Your speech-to-text and AI models |
| Data retention and access | Set by the vendor's terms | Set by you and your customers' agreements |
| Device behavior | Fixed by the vendor | Button logic, upload rules, authentication configured in firmware |
| Pricing to your customer | Retail price, often with a subscription for AI features | Bundled in your own pricing |
| Minimum quantity | One unit | Around 500 units on an existing platform |
Consumer recorder vendors may offer business plans; check their current terms if branding or data routing matters to you.
When should you just buy consumer recorders?
- You are testing an idea with a handful of users and do not need your own brand yet.
- Your users only need notes and summaries, and the vendor's app already does what they need.
- You will not reach a few hundred units in the first year.
White label makes sense when the device is a feature of your software, when audio must flow into your platform, or when your customers need control over where their recordings live.
What can be white-labeled or customized?
Brand
Logo printing, packaging, user manuals, a companion app styled to your brand, and housing color on MIC06.
Firmware
Button and slide-gesture behavior, recording logic, upload and retry rules, notifications, wake-up workflows, OTA updates.
Integration
SDK for your mobile app, API integration, cloud endpoint configuration, private-server deployment, device authentication.
All of these stay within an existing platform, without new industrial or mechanical design. A new shape, new tooling or a new PCB is a full ODM program.
Which devices can carry your brand?
MIC01
Push-to-talk, 8.8 g, 45 × 19 × 19.5 mm, up to 8 hours, Bluetooth 5.3, 128 MB. For quick voice notes sent through your app.
MIC05
Aluminum body, 50.5 g, up to 10 hours, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5.3, 1 GB, hardware noise reduction, NFC, encrypted firmware. For longer conversations and secure deployments.
MIC06
56.5 g, up to 9 hours, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5.3, 1 GB, slide-touch control, gyroscope, NFC, encrypted firmware. For fleets uploading directly to your cloud.
How does the device connect to your software?
- Through your app over BLE: the SDK handles pairing, recording control, file sync and device status, so your app receives the audio.
- Directly over Wi-Fi (MIC05, MIC06): the device authenticates to your cloud endpoint or private server and uploads there.
- Into your pipeline: your speech-to-text, AI and storage take over from the upload. GMIC provides firmware, SDK documentation and integration support.
For the technical detail, see the BLE AI voice recorder ODM guide.
How do you launch a white-label recorder?
- Evaluate samples of the platform closest to your use case, recording through your own transcription pipeline.
- Integrate the SDK or upload API with your app and backend.
- Pilot with a small group of customers and measure capture rate, transfer failures and audio quality in their real environments.
- Order the branded batch, then scale.
What MOQ and timeline should you plan for?
| Path | What changes | Typical MOQ |
|---|---|---|
| Proof of concept | Existing platform connected to your app for testing | Small runs, evaluated case by case |
| White label / platform customization | Branding, packaging, firmware, cloud endpoint; no industrial or mechanical design changes | Around 500 units |
| Full ODM | New industrial and mechanical design (ID/MD), tooling, PCB, audio, battery | Around 2,000 units |
The simplest proof of concept can be delivered in as little as 2 weeks with an expedite fee. Platform-based prototype / MVP delivery is typically 25–45 working days after scope and specifications are agreed, before production launch; small-batch production follows about 40 working days after MVP validation and production readiness approval; the volume ramp reaches steady delivery 20–45 working days after the small batch. Component supply is the main variable.
Engineering and production are in Shenzhen; the commercial team is in California. Manufacturing is carried out by GainStrong (Shenzhen GainStrong Technology Co., Ltd.), part of the same group.

A white-label or OEM AI voice recorder. Instead of the recorder vendor's app and service, the device carries your brand, connects to your app through an SDK or uploads to your cloud, and runs your own transcription and AI. GMIC builds these from existing platforms (MIC01, MIC05, MIC06) or as full ODM programs.
GMIC's MIC01 (push-to-talk, 8.8 g, Bluetooth 5.3), MIC05 (aluminum, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, encrypted firmware) and MIC06 (slide-touch, gyroscope, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, encrypted firmware) can all be ordered with your logo, packaging and firmware configuration; MIC06 also offers custom housing color.
White label or customization of an existing platform without industrial or mechanical design changes typically starts around 500 units. A full ODM program with new industrial and mechanical design (ID/MD) typically starts around 2,000 units. Proof-of-concept runs are evaluated case by case.
Yes. Over BLE the SDK delivers recordings to your app; on Wi-Fi models the device uploads to your cloud endpoint or private server. Speech-to-text, AI and data stay with you.
